The State of Engineering Report, issued by Engineering UK earlier this year, states that Engineering companies are projected to need 182,000 people with engineering skills each year until 2022. This means doubling the number of graduates and apprentices entering the engineering industry each year and the North West and Oldham cannot afford to be left behind.
The Oldham Business Leadership Group along with Museum of Science & Industry (STEMNET Contract Holders), Engineering UK and the Regional Science Centre will be addressing the skills gap within STEM as part of the Big Bang @ Oldham on 30th June at the Regional Science Centre, where Primary and Secondary students will engage in hands on interactive exhibitions and workshops. We hope you can join us for a networking lunch, followed by an introduction to the State of Engineering UK Report for the North West, case studies of best practice and examples of collaborative action in Oldham.
