GC Business Growth Hub Innovation Advisor, Samuel Bafunso, won the Business Support Professional of the Year award – recognising his dedication to driving innovation within business.
The awards, hosted by pro-manchester, celebrated their ninth year in style with an entertaining in-person ceremony at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel on Thursday evening (4 February 2022).
Samuel commented on his award, saying:
“I’m very proud to be recognised in this category and would like to thank all my GC colleagues. It’s a great achievement for all involved and means a lot to me.”
Janine Smith, Director of GC Business Growth Hub, congratulated Samuel, saying:
“This is well-earned recognition for an important member of our Innovation team. Samuel is integral to assisting businesses on their innovation journey, which is so essential in the development of businesses.
“We had several talented nominees at the Made in Manchester Awards this year and each one is recognition of the skilled and talented colleagues we are lucky to have. It’s a privilege working alongside them, and I am excited to see what impact they will have in the future.”
Yvonne Grady, Head of Innovation for the Hub, received Samuel’s award in his absence and was quick to offer her praise for Samuel’s work.
“In the past year Samuel has exceeded even his exceptionally high achievements and consistently goes above and beyond what is asked of him. Before he joined us at the Hub, he gained multinational environmental consultancy experience in helping businesses identify new market opportunities and establishing themselves in China and so we knew a dedicated and talented individual was joining our team immediately.
“It’s a pleasure working with Samuel, and I can’t wait to hand over this trophy to him!”
As part of the Hub’s tenth anniversary celebrations, Samuel sat down to have a conversation about the future of innovation for SMEs. Read it here.
