The guest speaker at the first 2015 Business Growth Lunch will be James Whitaker, founder of ParentHub. James will be discussing how he made the transition from Maths teacher to entrepreneur, the challenges that he faced and the lessons that he has learnt along the way.
James Whitaker is the founder and CEO of ParentHub. Working with the Business Growth Hub Growth Startup team, the company launched in September 2014. ParentHub is a smartphone app designed to improve the way that schools engage with their community.
It is a Teach First Innovation partner and the 2014 winner of both the Big Venture Challenge and the Big Issue Invest Corporate Social Venturing Programme. With a projected turnover of £460,000 in the first year and a commitment from ten schools in the Greater Manchester area, ParentHub has massive growth potential on a global scale.
