 This session focuses on top line strategy for 3 exit scenarios; family succession, management buyout and business sale, and introduces the steps necessary to make a business “exit-ready”.   The checklist you’ll take away will help build good business practice into your current operations and help you achieve a smoother and better value exit.

  • You will explore what you want your business to achieve for you. 
  • Discuss the 3 exit scenarios and associated risks and benefits of each.   In particular, focusing on the impact on operations, culture, customer perception and the overall effect of your exit from the business.
  • We’ll look at how to build confidence in your businesses future through ensuring a clear structure and skill-set exists in the retained management team and how to ensure the brand and identity remain positive following your exit. 
  • We’ll look at the key attributes buyers want to see in a business they acquire, and how to maximise sale value by enhancing these. 
  • Regardless of the exit scenario we will look at the importance of a track record of success, clear business metrics, and a defined strategy to demonstrate the businesses growth potential.  
  • Finally, we’ll look at the exit process itself.  How to ensure business continuity whilst retaining customer, staff and supplier loyalty. 

 Bio of Deliverer

Jaan Scott is a Co- Founder of Matchbox Associates Limited. Jaan established a strong track record of success in the manufacturing sector. His particular strengths are business process improvement, business development and new market entry, including export. For over 10 years Jaan was part of an MBO team with manufacturing sites in UK, USA and China. The Group was sold through four separate deals to a mix of International and National companies.

 John Warren is a Co-Founder of Matchbox Associates Limited. He has a wealth of strategic, operational, business planning and change management skills gained during senior roles in the commercial and public sector. John’s achievements include securing, mobilising and delivering a series of multi-million pound contracts in the service sector, delivering and implementing board level strategies and driving cultural change into a UK Plc.
