Manufacturers feature in first Innovation100 report

Four manufacturing firms have been featured in the 'Innovation100' report, which showcases 100 of Greater Manchester's most innovative businesses.
Produced by the Business Growth Hub and BQ, the report highlights 100 small and medium firms based in Greater Manchester which have positioned innovation at the heart of their business.
Chris Greenhalgh, head of innovation at the Business Growth Hub, said:

Innovation is across many different facets of business, across different sectors and different sizes of companies.”
Four manufacturing firms in Greater Manchester were highlighted for their innovative business approach to collaboration, research and product development. They were:
Based in Stockport, Advanced Laser Technologies develop laser systems for manufacturing industries. The business collaborates with research facilities and universities to stay at the forefront of laser technology research and design.
Chromition, based on Manchester Science Park, develop, produce and supply Luminspheres, Elecspheres & Dielecspheres nanoparticle solutions for bioimaging, lighting, decoractive, sunlight down-shifting and security applications.
Manchester based Colour Synthesis Solutions design and manufacture fine chemicals. Experts in molecular design, the business specialise in synthesising novel molecules that allow the manipulation of light for applications including electronic displays, smart windows and solar energy capture.
Based on the Manchester Science Park, SwabTech Ltd is a medical device company that has spun out of the UK NHS to develop, evaluate and commercialise an automatic swab washing device to support the use of Intra-Operative Cell Salvage within operating theatres.
