Manufacturing is quite special in that you create tangible products people will buy and use. But sometimes we get bogged down in the day-to-day of running the company – and, in this era of disruption to business-as-usual, dealing with the economic, operational and regulatory challenges that come thick and fast can feel overwhelming.
Sometimes all it takes is a fresh look and a helping hand to reframe ‘obstacles’ as opportunities. Our team of specialist Manufacturing Advisors have unique and unrivalled experience of providing their eyes, ears and expertise to manufacturers, helping to embed excellence throughout their clients’ operations.
We’ll enable you to improve your production efficiency, develop your products or processes, adopt more sustainable practices, implement smart technology, enter new markets, and develop your leadership and management skills.
Focusing on problem solving, rather than workarounds or temporary solutions, we’ll partner with you to decide where best to prioritise your efforts – and develop a growth strategy that’s right for you. Offering hands-on workshops and dedicated resources, we’ll help you to identify the most effective route to increased productivity and profitability.

Culture is the invisible thing holding your organisation together. It’s the set of values, beliefs and behaviours that shape the way your business operates at every level. A good culture is the key to manufacturing excellence, and the key to a good culture is good leadership. We tend to undervalue leadership skills so much in manufacturing that many businesses assume the only way to improve productivity is to throw money at better kit and new technology. But, more often than not, the best way to increase productivity is to focus on how you manage and lead people.

There are two sides to this challenge. Firstly, you need to reduce the risk of critical knowledge and skills disappearing if people leave; to do this requires mapping out and understanding exactly what you have at your disposal, and putting systems in place to ensure you aren’t overly reliant on specific individuals. Secondly, you need to prevent people from feeling like they want to leave in the first place. The most obvious solution is to offer a good salary, but a lack of appreciation and engagement (perceived or otherwise) can be a much more serious problem.
