Fully-Funded Support

What does this mean?

In order to support your business, Business Growth Hub works with local, national and European partners, so that wherever possible we’re able to offer you support that is fully-funded and can be provided at no direct cost to your business.

Our funding is provided through a range of organisations and programmes, including the European Union Regional Development Fund (ERDF), supported by The Department of Communities and local Government, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), The Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership (GM LEP).

This funding is made available to encourage businesses to start-up and grow across the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester and some of our support even extends beyond this. Unless explicitly stated, all support provided is fully-funded.

We also provide support through the help of our delivery partners. You can see the full list of our partners here.

FAQs

My business is based in the borough of Bolton/Bury/Manchester/Oldham/Rochdale/Salford/Stockport/Tameside/Trafford/Wigan, am I eligible?

We work with businesses across all ten local authorities of Greater Manchester and some of our services extend beyond this. Eligibility criteria applies to some support and we can help you check. If you’re unsure about your eligibility, please contact our enquiry team on 0161 359 3050.

Is there really no cost to my business?

If you’re based in Greater Manchester, the majority of our support is fully-funded meaning there is no cost to you or your business for this support. You will, however, be expected to invest your own time and effort if you’re to benefit from the help available and to let us know what effect the support has had on your business.

Who funds Business Growth Hub support?

Funding comes from a number of different bodies to provide specialised programmes. In each case, the funder’s logo(s) will appear on the materials we provide to acknowledge the support they are providing.

What about De Minimis and State Aid regulation?

Our support is publicly-funded and State Aid rules apply. Should you receive support, your advisor will explain the State Aid considerations. We operate under both the De Minimis scheme and the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER), depending on the service provided. For a comprehensive guide to State Aid, please see the following gov.uk page: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/state-aid.

Business Growth Hub has a lot of partners, is their support fully-funded too?

The Business Growth Hub works with over 182 partner organisations and, wherever it is beneficial, we work with partners to deliver our services. In some instances, this means our services are funded and you will be made aware if this is the case.

However, in most cases, if you’re interested in working with our partners there will be costs involved. When this is the case, costs will be explicitly stated.

If you have any other queries or are unsure about any of the answers above, please contact our enquiry team on 0161 359 3050.
