Greater Manchester’s night-time economy is one of its greatest strengths—powered by the creativity, energy, and resilience of its hospitality, leisure, and cultural industries. From independent venues and late-night eateries to live music, events, and creative spaces, these sectors are vital to the region’s identity and economic growth.
To support the people behind this vibrant ecosystem, GM Business Growth Hub, in partnership with the GMCA Night-time Economy Office, is launching the After Hours Forum—a new fully funded evening event series designed to bring business leaders together for open, peer-led conversations about leadership, growth, and the real challenges facing the sector.
Rather than traditional workshops or speaker-led sessions, the Forum creates space for honest dialogue around the issues that matter most—from managing cash flow and navigating employment law to building team culture, marketing with impact, and exploring the potential of AI. Each session will feature a guest speaker from Greater Manchester’s night-time industries, followed by open discussion and networking in a relaxed, after-work setting.
The After Hours Forum is designed for those leading businesses that shape the city’s nightlife—whether operating bars, managing venues, running creative agencies, or supporting the sector through services and supply chains. The series offers a valuable opportunity to connect with peers, share experiences, and strengthen leadership across one of Greater Manchester’s most dynamic sectors.
“This is about backing the people who keep the city alive after dark. Through the After Hours Forum, GM Business Growth Hub is creating space for leaders in hospitality, leisure, and the creative industries to reflect, connect, and grow—together,” said Yvonne Sampson, Head of Enterprise of GM Business Growth Hub. “It’s part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening the night-time economy and supporting the businesses that make Greater Manchester thrive.”
“The After Hours Forum is a central part of Greater Manchester’s vision for residents and visitors to live well at night in a vibrant, 24-hour city-region that is safe, accessible and diverse, said Joe Heys, Principal of Culture and Night-time Economy at the GMCA. “These sessions, co-designed with the sector, will give business leaders space and time to develop their skills, build their brand and grow their network, ensuring they continue to thrive and innovate in the modern night-time economy.”
The series will run from 21 October 2025 to 4 February 2026, with events hosted in venues that reflect the spirit and diversity of Greater Manchester’s nightlife.
