GC Business Growth Hub client supports creation of mural at Bury Hospice

Longstanding GC Business Growth Hub client, the Rakem Group, recently demonstrated their commitment to giving back to the community.  

The chemical supplier and manufacturing company donated to Bury Hospice to support the creation of a new mural for their patients. The project involved local Bury College students painting a mural that will create a positive and engaging environment for the hospice's patients. 

The Rakem Group recognised the importance of Bury Hospice's work and wanted to help enhance the experience of their patients. They identified an opportunity to collaborate with local college students, who were keen to use their artistic talents for a good cause, and customer HMG Paints, who were kind enough to supply the paint to the students. 

The project involved painting a large mural in one of the hospice's communal areas, where patients can enjoy the artwork and find inspiration and comfort. The mural's theme is centred around nature, with colourful depictions of flowers, trees, and wildlife that can provide a calming and soothing atmosphere. 

The college students had an opportunity to showcase their artistic abilities and make a meaningful contribution to the community, helping them to develop valuable skills and experience.  

A Bury College student said “I am so grateful for the opportunity to work on this mural project for Bury Hospice. It was an amazing experience to be able to put my skills to use, and to make a real-world positive impact on the community, and I hope that our artwork can bring comfort and joy to the hospice patients. Working on this project has also helped me to develop my skills and gain valuable experience in collaborating with others to achieve a shared goal.” 

Another young artist said "Working on this mural project for Bury Hospice has been a truly rewarding experience. It's amazing to see how art can make a difference in people's lives, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a worthy cause. I hope that our mural can bring a smile to the faces of the hospice patients and help to create a positive and uplifting environment for them." 

Through collaboration with local college students and generous donations, the company has been able to make a positive impact on the lives of the hospice patients and the wider community. This project serves as a shining example of the power that businesses can wield when they prioritise community involvement and highlights the benefits of collaborative efforts.
