Additional specialists required to accelerate UK’s Net Zero innovation drive

Following a successful tender process last year, The Growth Company is calling for further expressions of interest from experienced consultants and associates to meet demand for specific technology disciplines within the Government’s new £1bn Net Zero Innovation Portfolio.

Having now appointed experts across various sectors, The Growth Company is specifically seeking support from those in the following fields, to work in partnership with its experienced team across the Group’s wider innovation services:

  • Advanced nuclear
  • Smart energy & energy storage
  • Greenhouse gas removal
  • Hydrogen

Suitable associates have until 12 April to express interest here – Acceleration Support Services: the provision of specialist information, advice and guidance to support commercialisation

As a longstanding strategic delivery partner to the Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), The Growth Company has been delivering net carbon zero business support for over a decade and has amassed a wealth of practical experience.

One of the many opportunities in the pipeline is the chance to bid for the provision of acceleration support services for BEIS. This £9.65m contract is for four years and is UK-wide. Should the bid be successful, it is envisioned that delivery will begin from summer 2021.

To reflect the UK’s diversity, individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds in business and particularly those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, are being encouraged to apply.

Richard Jeffery, National Director, GC Business at the Growth Company, said: “We are on the cusp of a green industrial revolution and we now need to accelerate the UK’s journey to zero carbon by drawing on our nationwide professionalism and capabilities in business innovation and commercialisation. The Growth Company is preparing for this by building on its leading capabilities in supporting low carbon innovation across SMEs.

“As we enhance our existing services, we invite potential partners and associates to join us and be at the very heart of a truly national effort to transform UK plc and ensure businesses are future proofed for the challenges and opportunities that we collectively face in terms of decarbonisation, clean growth, and climate resilience.”
