UKBAA launch new Manchester investment hub with GC Angels

GC Angels, the angel investment arm of the Growth Company, is joining forces with the UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA) to launch a new UKBAA Angel Hub for Greater Manchester, creating a focal point to build and connect angel investing across the region.

The UKBAA Angel Hub will work with GC Angels to offer access to deal flow, drop-in and lounge space for angel investors, as well as a programme of events including investor education. The UKBAA Hub will be sited at the Growth Company’s Churchgate House and be one of two angel hubs in the city.

The Manchester Angel Hub is the latest to be launched by the UKBAA, the national trade association for angel and early-stage investment, representing over 180 member organisations and around 12,000 investors.  Manchester joins a successful network already operating in Cambridge, Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham and Belfast.

Jenny Tooth OBE, CEO of UK Business Angels Association said “Our mission at UKBAA is to build and grow a thriving angel community in all parts of the country. We are delighted to be working with GC Angels in establishing this new Angel Hub for Manchester, offering a vital new resource to build further angel investment capacity in this dynamic region".

Operating from Churchgate House on Oxford Road, the angel hub will offer extensive facilities for existing investors and new would-be investors to connect, access information and education, build new relationships and identify new opportunities for investing and co-investing in Manchester’s exciting entrepreneurs.

Notably, the Angel Hub provides an opportunity to build an effective and cohesive ecosystem for the region with the opportunity to build links with many key players in the finance chain to support angel investing from start-up to scale-up.
