50-50 Energy Efficiency Grant: go green and you could cut your bills by half

Get the funding you need to upgrade your lighting or equipment, slash your energy bills and reduce your environmental impact.

If you’ve got a small or medium-sized business in Greater Manchester you may be eligible for our new 50-50 Energy Efficiency Grant to help you go green this spring.

Get 50% of the cost of energy saving equipment and reap the benefits of 50% (or more!) annual savings on your future related bills.

The grants are available for a limited time on a first-come first-served basis and can go towards, for example, a new LED lighting system for your premises, heating equipment upgrades, replacement drives or motors, or another energy efficiency project that your business needs.

Act now – apply by June 30th to avoid disappointment. We’re expecting the grants to go fast, so use the simple form below to kickstart your application.

Our streamlined application process means you can get started in two minutes, and we can even help to identify a suitable supplier for your energy efficient technology (though, of course, you can use your own).

As well as reducing your energy bills, you improve your environmental credentials, keeping you competitive in an increasingly eco-conscious global market.

What you can get

You’ll get 50% of the cost of an energy efficiency project of your choice.

We’d expect your project to cost in the region of £2,000 (excluding installation and VAT), for which you’d receive a grant of £1,000. But if it’s much less than this don’t worry, still get in touch with us.

Why should you apply?

REASON 1: In short, you’ll save money: your energy bills will come down.

For example, if you’re in a small office with around 60 or 70 old two-foot T8 quad fittings*, you could save more than 50% on your future annual lighting costs by replacing them with efficient LED panels.

If you’ve a factory or warehouse, then replacing your 15 to 20 old 250-watt sodium lights* with more efficient 100W equivalents could knock as much as 60% off your annual lighting bills.

(*Don’t worry if these mean nothing to you – we’ll help cut through the jargon and connect you with the appropriate experts.)

REASON 2: Not only that, but you’ll be helping to make Greater Manchester one of the leading green cities in Europe.

REASON 3: And, on top of this, you’ll be able to show off your green credentials to your customers by signing our green business pledge

How long will it take?

Complete the short (no, really) online form below to kick off your application. We’ll come back to you within 24 working hours to confirm your eligibility and move your application forward.

What’s the small print?

50-50 Energy Efficiency Grants are available to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)* in Greater Manchester.

The maximum project cost is £5,000, excluding installation and VAT.

Eligible projects will need to provide a minimum of one quote from a reputable supplier.

We’ll assess your application by benchmarking costs against current market rates for your chosen technology to ensure your project offers value for money.

You must commit to (1) having the technology installed, (2) paying the supplier and (3) reclaiming your grant, by August 31st 2018.

The annual energy savings quoted above are examples based on our clients’ experiences. Every project is of course unique, so your project may deliver different savings. Your supplier will help you calculate what these will be.

* If you, or the group you form part of, employs less than 250 people and had turnover of less than £40m last year you’re almost certainly an eligible SME. We’ll help you to establish this as part of the application process.
