Greater Manchester manufacturers invited to prepare for Brexit
8 January 2018
A series of events will be held across Greater Manchester in the New Year to help manufacturers in the region prepare for Brexit.
The events – titled ‘Preparing Your Manufacturing Business for Brexit’ - will be delivered by the Manufacturing Growth Fund and will focus on offering the region’s manufacturers an outline of what Brexit means for small and medium manufacturing firms, providing them with the tools to start preparing their businesses.
The first event, intended for manufacturers based in Northern Manchester, will be held at the home of Bolton Wanderers, the Macron Stadium, on Tuesday 16 January 2018 from 8am-11:30am. Following a welcome and overview from the Hub’s manufacturing advisor for the Bolton area, Paul Holt, Mike Brook and Jayne Mazulis from Barnsley-based international business consultants Brook Corporate Developments will outline the implications of Brexit for British manufacturers. This will be followed by a panel session including representatives from the Department for International Trade North West and the Manufacturing Growth Fund, to answer your questions on the topic. Attendees will then take part in workshops to help them grasp the practical implications of Brexit and there will also be a chance for attendees to seek further specialised advice from the event’s speakers on the full range of manufacturing issues.
The second event, intended for manufacturers based in South Manchester, will be held at Cheadle House on Thursday 18 January 2018 and will follow the same format, this time chaired by the Hub’s manufacturing advisor for the Stockport area, Geoff Crossley.
Further events will then follow in February across Cheshire and Lancashire for manufacturers based in other parts of the region.
