Industry 4.0

The Industrial Revolution returns to Manchester…

But not as you know it. Rather than harking back to our illustrious past, Manchester is all set to host two major manufacturing events – Industry 4.0 Summit and the Factories of the Future Expo − which have their eyes set firmly towards the future of advanced manufacturing.

The Business Growth Hub will be at the co-located events which take place between 4-5 April at Manchester Central.

Mike Blackburn OBE, Chairman Greater Manchester LEP, will open Industry 4.0. The summit aims to be the leading international summit for those businesses preparing to adopt the 4th industrial revolution, the Internet of Things and the Smart Factory.

The two days will showcase the latest innovations to help manufacturers digitise and upgrade their operations. Furthermore, keynote speakers include leaders from the likes of Airbus Group, Schneider Electric, Dassault Systemes and Bosch Rexroth.

Factories of the Future Expo

What will the new factory look like? Technology is moving fast – what will industrial production look like a decade or so from now? These are just two of the burning questions that the Factories of the Future Expo will look to address.

It’s completely free to attend and the Hub will be exhibiting in The Productivity Zone (stand H10) and on-hand to offer business support for the manufacturing sector together with experts from MIDAS, Department for International Trade North West, The Skills Company, Manufacturing Champions Network, The Manufacturing Institute and FabLabs.

Visit The Productivity Zone to take the Lean Manufacturing Challenge, view prototyping technology and speak to an expert about developing smart productivity and processes, new product development and introduction, operational excellence and lean manufacturing, supply chain management, leadership, skills and apprenticeships, new markets and exporting, grants and accessing finance.

Other highlights include:
