Manufacturers invited to Business of Nature film screening

A free screening of The Business of Nature film will take place on 19 June in Manchester, where businesses will be able to learn about the fully-funded support available to start their net zero journey.

Featuring Deborah Meaden, Ken Murphy, Dame Sharon White and other renowned business leaders, The Business of Nature: Save our Wild Isles explores why the looming nature crisis is such a threat to British business.

The film screening, hosted by The Growth Company, will be followed by a discussion about what actions businesses can take to reduce their impact on the environment.

Participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about The Growth Company’s Low Carbon Skills: Journey to Net Zero course – a fully-funded 3-day course that teaches the fundamentals of net zero, measuring your carbon footprint and building a green team in the workplace.

Recent research found that two thirds of British SMEs are not confident on how to achieve net zero carbon emissions, despite it becoming an increasingly important consideration across the manufacturing sector.

Previous surveys have found that 8 in 10 UK manufacturers believe decarbonisation is a business priority, but a similar proportion admit to lacking knowledge about their carbon footprint.

Experts from the Hub’s sister organisation, Green Economy, will also be on-hand to outline how businesses can use its online marketplace to find local, reputable suppliers of green technologies and services.

The film screening takes place on 19 June at Cultplex in Manchester. To learn more and register, click here.

The final cohort for Journey to Net Zero will take place in August, so manufacturers are urged to book a place as soon as possible.
