Several innovative manufacturing tech providers have been named in the first ‘LCR Tech Climbers’ list, which celebrates Liverpool City Region’s fastest growing and most innovative tech scale-ups.
The list, launched by venture capital firm Praetura Ventures in association with BusinessCloud and digital business support programme LCR Activate, showcases 27 leading tech companies and 8 ‘ones to watch’ in the Liverpool City Region.
The finalists were chosen by a team of judges - including representatives from the Liverpool City Region’s Local Enterprise Partnership and Liverpool John Moores University - based on how unique their technology was, how well they solved problems in their target market and how well they were disrupting their sector.
Included in the list is CNC Robotics, a market-leading automation and robotics firm which develops systems for a diverse array of manufacturing processes.
One of the company’s recent innovations is a plug-and-play ‘factory in a box’, developed in partnership with a roof slate manufacturer in Wales to be deployed directly on building sites.
Another firm highlighted in the list is 3D Life Prints, which specialises in giving hospitals affordable and efficient access to 3D printing technologies.
Also recognised is Liverpool Chirochem, a chemicals R&D firm which has developed a suite of novel processes that support new drug discovery.
Jonathan Clark, Business and Technology Manager at LCR Active, commented:
“We’re excited to launch the first LCR Tech Climbers list and highlight some of the businesses in the region that are using technology in new ways to solve problems creatively. These businesses are the driving force of growth in the local economy and are helping to prove Liverpool City Region as the go-to tech destination in the UK for future job-seekers, investors, and entrepreneurs.”
