Places up for grabs in engineering SME Leaders Programme

The Royal Academy of Engineering is inviting applications for its 2019 SME Leaders programme, with ten successful applicants to receive grant funding of up to £10,000 to support training needs.

Now in its third year, the Academys SME Leaders Programme aims to develop the leadership and business acumen of founders, managing directors and C-suite executives in high-growth SMEs.

Through a six-month programme, successful applicants become members of the Academys Enterprise Hub and receive grant funding towards the cost of leadership training courses.

To date the programme has supported 53 leaders across a range of sectors, from space technology to manufacturing.

Ana Avaliani, Head of Enterprise at the Royal Academy of Engineering, said:

The SME Leaders Programme has been running for two years and we have been pleased with the progress our current cohort has made - whether raising funds to grow or entering new markets. The Enterprise Hub exists to provide the skills and support we know are essential in inspiring belief in engineering enterprise. We look forward to receiving more high quality applications for this year.

To be eligible, prospective companies must have a turnover of at least £200,000 or have raised at least £500,000 in equity investment in the last 12 months.

The next deadline for applications is 3 June 2019. For more information, visit www.enterprisehub.raeng.org.uk/programmes/sme-leaders-programme
