Manchester conference to showcase new composite materials

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is hosting a conference in Manchester on 22 May 2019 to showcase advances in next-generation composite materials that could revolutionise industry.

Composite materials - combinations of two or more constituent materials such as fibreglass - are becoming widely used throughout a number of sectors, often providing essential performance-enhancing properties such as reduced weight, increased strength or lower cost.

Much of materials chemistry has remained unchanged for a number of years, but recent advances have the potential to introduce new functionality and increased performance.

To highlight this growth opportunity the KTN is hosting a conference for industry participants in Manchester to showcase the UKs research excellence within the field of next-generation composite matrix materials.

Confirmed speakers include senior academics from the Universities of Huddersfield, Bristol, Manchester and Bolton and industry stakeholders such as the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) and polymer companies Vitrex, Bitrez and Hunstman Advanced Materials.
