Great snaps: manufacturers featured in national photo competition

Six manufacturers from across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside feature in the shortlist for the 2018 EEF Photography Competition.

Six manufacturers from across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside feature in the shortlist for the 2018 EEF Photography Competition.

Manufacturers across the country were encouraged to open their doors to amateur and professional photographers this summer for the annual competition, which aims to inspire a new image and improved public perception of UK manufacturing and engineering.

 

 

 

Professional photographer Greg Harding has been shortlisted for photos from three different manufacturers across the North West.

His photo of a high integrity welding process at Exyte Hargreaves in Bury was shortlisted in the manufacturing product category.

The -80°C automated robotic store for biological and pharmaceutical samples at Brooks Life Sciences in Manchester was shortlisted in the future technology category.

Robotic thermal cutting machine at Leach Structural Steelworks credit Niek Braam

 

 

 Amateur photographer Niek Braam was shortlisted in the future technology category for his photo of a robotic thermal cutting machine at Leach Structural Steelworks in Preston. The fully-automated processing line is designed to produce complex steel structures.

 

 

 

The Outstanding Brewing Company in Salford was snapped by professional photographer Adrian Waine, whose photo of nitrogen supply being attached to stainless steel vessels for the brewing process was shortlisted in the manufacturing process category

Lastly, amateur photographer Andy Newman was shortlisted in the next generation category for his photo of an apprentice assembling a pump at NOV Process and Flow Technologies in Manchester.
