Liverpool prepares to host key manufacturing events

Pre-registration is now open for the Smart Factory Expo in Liverpool on 14-15 November 2018 and several local companies have been shortlisted in the coinciding Manufacturer MX Awards.

The Smart Factory Expo at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool is expected to welcome around 6,000 manufacturers over two days.

The event will showcase the UK’s biggest gathering of smart manufacturing exhibitors, split into six zones: Industrial automation, Internet of Things, digital transformation, smart factory, manufacturing innovation and industrial data.

Alongside exhibitors there will be consultant clinics, a match-making platform, manufacturing tours, an ‘innovation alley’ and a solutions theatre with over 200 free-to-attend presentations.

The Expo also coincides with Digital Manufacturing Week 2018, the Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit and The Manufacturer MX Awards.

Several North West manufacturers have reached the shortlist for the 2018 awards. Corrosion Resistant Products Ltd in Rochdale and Leyland Trucks Ltd in Lancashire are shortlisted in the People and Skills category, while Liverpool-based CNC Robotics Ltd and Lancashire packaging manufacturer Trakrap are shortlisted shortlisted for the Innovation and Design award.

Elsewhere, Oldham care products manufacturer Faith in Nature, which has worked with the Business Growth Hub, has been nominated for the Export award.

The award winners will be announced on 15 November at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
