Lean For Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Workshop

The programme begins on 14 June, with a special event hosted by Tim McLean, a world leader on Lean implementation for small and medium manufacturing firms.
During this interactive session delegates will learn:
- Core Lean principles that will help you see opportunity in your businesses.
- Why a “big company solution” like Lean works so effectively in smaller businesses.
- The steps to successful Lean implementation in small and medium business.
- How to unlock your business’ growth potential.
Workshop one: The Lean Lego Game
This session will explain the theory of 8 wastes and demonstrate how to identify this in your own processes.
Working in groups delegates will operate a virtual production line and understand how Lean techniques can improve the process to beat the clock. Attendees will take back new skills to your business which will equip your workforce to make improvements that will deliver results.

Workshop two: Embedding Continuous Improvement Techniques
This session will provide an in-depth look at the lean manufacturing techniques – 5S and Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED).
During practical exercises, you will learn the theory behind these tools and understand how you can implement them within your operation to eliminate waste, promote teamwork and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
