Innovate UK SMART Grants
UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £25 million for game-changing and commercially viable research and development (R&D) innovation that can significantly impact the UK economy.
SMART is Innovate UK’s responsive grant funding programme. It has focused eligibility criteria and scope to support SMEs and their partners to develop disruptive innovations with significant potential for rapid, economic return to the UK.

i4i FAST (Funding At the Speed of Translation)
Designed to support advances in healthcare technologies and interventions for increased patient benefit in areas of existing or emerging healthcare need. It supports the research and development of medical devices, in vitro diagnostic devices and high-impact patient-focused digital health technologies (including AI) for ultimate NHS use, to a point where they are de-risked for follow-on investment. Research themes can address any area of existing or emerging clinical unmet need.

Funding: £15k to £50k per project

Commercialising Connected and Autonomous Mobility
UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £41.5 million available via competition funding to support new automated transport service projects and feasibility studies into the use of connected and automated mobility as a mass transit solution

Energy Catalyst
Organisations can apply for a share of up to £20 million to create new or improved clean energy access in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and the Indo-Pacific regions.

Faraday Battery Challenge
The competition aims to move UK battery innovations from technological potential towards commercial capability. Additional aims are to develop and secure material and manufacturing supply chains for battery technologies in the UK.
It is designed to support the research and development of the most promising, innovative, and sustainable battery technologies for the propulsion of electric vehicles in the automotive sector.
