Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has teamed up with the Business Growth Hub to run a series of half-day training sessions on how improving resource efficiency can help to win work.
Three fully-funded training courses will take place in February and March, each focusing on a different environmental theme.
The aim is to help Greater Manchester businesses benefit from cost-cutting resource efficiency measures and the advantages improved environmental credentials can bring when bidding for work with public sector organisations like TfGM.
Frank Tudor, head of procurement at TfGM, said: “As anyone who has ever evaluated a proposal will tell you, the quality between the best and the worst bids on any tender can be stark. This concern led me to some conversations with the GM Business Growth Hub as to how we can improve that situation.
“One of the areas identified was how SMEs can differentiate themselves when it comes to environmental performance and more sustainable business operations, and this is something that I am very keen to promote.”
The training sessions are as follows:
• Motivating an Energy Efficient Workforce, 2 February
• Developing an Effective Environmental Policy, 16 February
• Financing Your Energy Efficient Investment Projects, 16 March.
Delegates will receive a record that they have participated in the training, which they can then use in future tender responses for TfGM or other Greater Manchester councils and beyond.
All three courses will be held from 8.30 to 12.30 at TfGM’s offices in Manchester city centre. To register your interest or find out more, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
