Freeflush in Trafford has been working with Greater Manchester’s GC Business Growth Hub to take its turnover to six figures and develop new water saving products for businesses.
Freeflush was set up in 2016 as a distributor of rainwater harvesting products for commercial, industrial and domestic applications.
Rainwater harvesting allows companies to reduce mains water usage by using rainwater for everything from manufacturing processes to flushing toilets.
Despite the UK often being referred to as a wet country, many regions are actually under significant water stress, with huge volumes of water wasted every day.
“In a world full of ever-depleting resources, we are working to educate businesses on water saving and provide them with UK-manufactured solutions that save both water and money”, said Freeflush director, Junaid Patel.
Freeflush added to its range of water saving products in 2017 by acquiring the rights to produce and solely distribute the Prestige Water Butt, the UK’s leading wall-mounted water butt. This presented the company with significant growth opportunities.
To make the most of the transition, Freeflush has benefitted from one-to-one advice from an expert green tech advisor at Greater Manchester’s Business Growth Hub, as well as several workshops to develop an effective business plan and marketing strategy.
“Following the rapid growth we experienced in 2017, the Business Growth Hub is helping us to ensure we capitalise on all the opportunities this presents us. Through the Hub we were given the opportunity to exhibit at Greater Manchester’s recent Green Summit and even managed to speak to mayor Andy Burnham”, Junaid said.
Funding from the GC Business Growth Hub is also helping to secure intellectual property rights for a novel self-cleaning filter which is under development.
Daniel O’Connell, green tech advisor at the GC Business Growth Hub, said: “Our funding will help Freeflush procure a specialist patent attorney for their new product, enhancing their chances of success.”
