Celebrated technology and innovation conference, Venturefest, will return to Manchester on 22 September 2015, with low carbon business one of this year’s themes.

Organised by the Business Growth Hub with support from Innovate UK and the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), Venturefest brings the regional business community together for inspirational speakers and interactive workshops that provide insights into the latest cutting-edge technology and innovation.

‘Innovative thinking’

The 2015 conference, which will be held at Lancashire County Cricket Club, provides a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs, investors and innovators to network, share ideas and develop new partnerships, as well as tap into the expertise on offer from the Business Growth Hub and its partners.

Richard Jeffery, director of Business Growth Hub and one of the event’s keynote speakers, said: “We’re aiming to build on Manchester’s great tradition of innovative and independent thinking, stimulating new ideas, investment and collaborations and ultimately helping to support the continued growth of Greater Manchester and the wider North West.”

Low carbon growth

With the thriving low carbon and environmental goods and services (LCEGS) sector already worth more than £3.4 trillion worldwide, experts from the Business Growth Hub’s Green Growth team will be running a workshop to highlight the sector’s growth potential in Greater Manchester.

Delegates will gain an insight into the region’s £5 billion low carbon supply chain and what opportunities it could offer to local businesses, from energy efficient LED lighting to cutting-edge clean tech.

There will also be an opportunity to hear from successful companies that are already operating and innovating in the sector, including Worldwide LED Lighting Ltd, which has recently achieved full ISO accreditation and will showcase its UK-first remote LED lighting technology, and ARC Window Films, which will discuss how it diversified into the low carbon sector with its ultra energy-saving films for glass windows and doors.
