Time for a Big Energy Conversation

Electricity North West has launched a new online energy saving hub providing advice and information to consumers, and is looking for organisations and individuals to join the conversation.

The Big Energy Conversation was launched by the network operator to coincide with Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham’s Green Summit on 21 March.

The online hub features advice from industry experts, case studies, top tips and infographics to help people implement simple energy saving changes in their homes.

Consumer advice

It is the second major engagement campaign in recent months from Electricity North West, which is hoping to highlight the importance of rethinking the way we use electricity as demand continues to rise.

“This is an important initiative because reducing energy use saves people money and reduces the need for costly new infrastructure to be built”, said commercial strategy and support director, Paul Bircham.

“Together with experts from across the energy sector, [the Big Energy Conversation] will provide all of the information people might need to make important decisions regarding how they use electricity.”

Industry challenge

Businesses across the North West are also being encouraged to join in, as they ultimately face the same challenge as consumers when it comes to avoiding rising energy bills.

“As a nation, we’ve reached a pivotal point in our energy story; if we don’t make changes now then the future will undoubtedly mean costly new infrastructure, which will hit our bills”, Paul Bircham added.
