Neptune Aqua, a Rochdale-based manufacturer of bespoke rainwater harvesting systems, is working with the Business Growth Hub to raise awareness of the technology in UK industrial and commercial markets.
Rainwater harvesting systems help companies to reduce costs and conserve water by replacing treated mains water usage with rainwater and greywater recovered and treated on-site.
Neptune Aqua was established in 2008 to apply the pumping design and equipment expertise of its parent company, R.E.M Services Ltd, to the water efficiency market.
The company manufactures its own rainwater harvesting systems in Rochdale, enabling them to offer bespoke, turnkey solutions, engineered to British standards. It is an NiCEIC approved contractor and holds both ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications.
Industry water demand
As larger systems achieve highly-competitive payback periods and deliver the greatest environmental impact, Neptune Aqua is targeting commercial and industrial sectors for future growth.
Global water demand from industry is also expected to rise by an average of four per cent a year towards 2040, meaning that rainwater harvesting will become an increasingly attractive option for firms looking avoid rising water costs.
Low carbon support
To help raise awareness of the economic and environmental benefits of its products to the industry sector, Neptune Aqua is receiving Green Growth support from Greater Manchester’s Business Growth Hub.
The company is also receiving specialist one-to-one support from a low carbon sector advisor to help it communicate the unique selling points of rainwater harvesting to new markets. For example, the company is now able to calculate the associated carbon savings that its products achieve when reducing use of mains water and sewerage systems.
Tom Bardwell, Green Growth low carbon sector advisor, said: “Neptune Aqua is a hard-working and highly-skilled company, with a genuine drive for ensuring their projects meet their clients’ requirements and yield maximum environmental and economic benefit.
“One of their greatest strengths is the proven engineering expertise and design put into their products, something which is made possible by manufacturing them on own premises in Rochdale. I think the company has great potential and I look forward to working with them in the coming year.”
Glenn Humphreys, installation manager at Neptune Aqua, said: “The Hub’s Green Growth service has given us practical, real-world support for developing our marketing material and expanding our USPs, which will help us to raise our profile and establish ourselves in the industrial and commercial marketplace. We look forward to working with the Hub over the next 12 to 18 months to see what we can achieve.”
