Idox, a European provider of funding and policy information, is celebrating its 30th year in business by launching the Idox Innovation Awards for the public and third sector, with a prize fund of £15,000.

The Innovation Awards have been established to showcase projects that have demonstrated a creative and forward-thinking approach to improving the life of communities in one or more UK locations.

The Awards aim to recognise, reward and raise the profile of such projects in order to celebrate the beneficial work being carried out at a local level across the UK.

Environmental sustainability

£3,000 is up for grabs across five award categories:

  • Innovation in supporting local economic development
  • Innovation in promoting community engagement
  • Innovation in promoting healthy living
  • Innovation in supporting children and young people
  • Innovation in promoting environmental sustainability.

Winning projects will also benefit from promotional and publicity opportunities, and highly commended projects will also be selected in each category to receive an Innovation Awards certificate.

The environmental sustainability category is open to projects that include the creation or enhancement of communal green spaces; energy efficiency or recycling projects; enhancement of local waterways and reservoirs; and preservation of wildlife sanctuaries and species protection initiatives.
