The Federation of Small Business (FSB) has begun its UK-wide search for the best small firms in the UK for 2019, including Best Ethical-Green business.
The annual FSB Small Business Awards has 11 categories, taking in start-ups, product innovators, exporters, ethical businesses, family businesses and more. Applicants do not need to be FSB members to qualify.
Twelve area finals - including one for the North West in Manchester - will take place between January and April 2019, with the UK national final taking place in May 2019 in London.
Last year’s awards saw around 200 nominations from businesses across the North West, ranging from sole traders and start-ups to established businesses with up to 250 employees.
‘Open to all’
Mike Cherry, national chairman of FSB, said: “Small businesses and the self-employed from across the UK contribute so much to our economy and our communities. The FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards recognise the best, most innovative and most determined of these, from every sector, industry and background.
“This is why we choose to keep entries to the awards free, and have them open to all smaller businesses and self-employed people, whether they are current FSB members or not. The entrepreneurial spirit in the UK is alive and well, with small businesses now numbering an incredible 5.7 million. Everyone should help us to celebrate that.”
