The B&EE Expo will run in tandem with the Greenbuild Expo at Manchester Central on 10-11 November 2015 and has been designed to highlight technological developments in building refurbishment methods and energy performance.
The event will also coincide with the inaugural B&EE Awards, which has been introduced to celebrate outstanding energy performance in commercial buildings.
Across the two-day conference, delegates will have access to more than 70 workshops and seminars, and over 100 exhibitors that provide services to help businesses improve energy efficiency in buildings.
Research suggests that UK SMEs alone are wasting up to £2.6 billion a year through inefficient energy usage.
The main feature at the event will be a ‘Future Cities Zone’, which will focus on what cities and buildings could be like in the future and how to overcome challenges such as energy and resource scarcity, rising populations and climate change.
The Business Growth Hub’s Green Growth service will be on hand throughout the event to offer help and advice to SMEs in Greater Manchester’s thriving low carbon and environmental goods and services sector.
To give a snapshot of the successful firms the Green Growth service is working with, three Greater Manchester SMEs will also be exhibiting at the event:
- Ricoman: an LED lighting manufacturer based in Manchester that covers a range of commercial and industrial needs. 2015 marked the introduction of several innovative products, including a low glare Capella downlight; versatile Canopus low bay; anti-corrosive Trident fittings; low UGR office luminaries; and highly-efficient Jupiter high bays.
- KAST Energy Solutions: a leading South Manchester-based specialist in reducing business energy bills through a variety of means, including solar thermal and PV panels, wind turbines, biomass boilers, energy monitoring services, voltage optimisation, infrared heating and LED lighting. KAST is celebrating a successful first year in business thanks to Green Growth support.
- Open Control Solutions (OCS): a provider of energy saving systems which control approximately 87 per cent of a building’s energy use, including environmental conditions, lighting levels and small power. Green Growth has recently helped OCS to embark on an ambitious five year growth plan.
