Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is hosting an inaugural networking lunch in Manchester on 27 April to celebrate the launch of its new sustainable travel business accreditation scheme.
The new Travel Choices accreditation scheme aims to reward companies for encouraging eco-friendly business travel.
TfGM’s Travel Choices service has worked with more than 500 companies to promote sustainable commuting and business journeys since launching in 2013.
The service gives companies and their staff access to exclusive initiatives and practical support to make travelling to work by foot, bike and public transport easier.
Any business can join its Business Travel Network and take advantage of free support and grants of up to £10,000.
As well as helping to reduce congestion and improve air quality, sustainable travel can yield significant business benefits – including increased productivity, better recruitment and retention of staff, and a happier and healthier workforce.
The celebration event will acknowledge companies that have led the way and present certificates to the first businesses to achieve gold, silver and bronze Travel Choices accreditation.
Delegates will have the opportunity to find out first-hand how these organisations become leaders in sustainable business travel and learn from their best practice.
The event is being held between 10am – 12pm on Thursday 27 April at TfGM’s head office in Manchester city centre. For more information, click here.
