Electricity North West is holding a workshop in Manchester on 29 June to offer insight into how the electricity grid works, its future and how it impacts on local energy projects.
The workshop is part of the regional network operator’s Community Connects programme for community energy projects.
Community and local energy is a small but growing sector, with several projects now existing across the region which reduce, manage, generate or purchase energy for community benefit.
The workshop will provide an overview of the structure of the electricity grid, grid capacity and how it is measured and managed, including heat maps which show the available capacity on the network.
The event is targeted at non-electrical engineers who want to understand the grid in more detail.
