A Wigan-based energy cost reduction specialist has secured a £20,000 contract and expanded its workforce following specialist support from the Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub.
Perfect Sense Energy helps businesses to reduce their electricity costs and dependence on the grid through LED lighting, far infrared heating, voltage optimisation and onsite renewable energy such as rooftop solar power.
In 2016 the company decided to do more to promote its expertise, products and services, and also explore new ways to recruit and develop skilled staff, to help it scale-up.
Low Carbon Network
As part of this process, Perfect Sense joined the Business Growth Hub’s Low Carbon Network, an online network that helps to raise the profile of companies in Greater Manchester’s sustainability and environmental sector.
As a direct result, Perfect Sense gained the attention of a local plastics manufacturer and successfully won a £20,000 contract to install a bespoke, high efficiency LED lighting system.
The company also went through a detailed review of their business with Daniel O’Connell, one of the Hub’s specialist low carbon sector advisors.
One of the areas looked at was staffing and potential local job creation opportunities, which resulted in the firm employing a new digital media and marketing apprentice from the local area.
