The annual EEF Future Manufacturing Awards are now open for 2015 entries, with two categories that recognise resource efficiency improvement up for grabs.
The EEF awards, among the most established and respected regional and national celebrations of manufacturing excellence in the UK, are open to all manufacturers across all sectors.
The awards represent an opportunity to raise awareness of manufacturing success, enhance employer profile and gain recognition amongst stakeholders and clients.
Award categories include:
- Business Efficiency
- Business Growth
- Developing People
- Environmental Efficiency
- Health and Safety
- Outstanding Export
- Partnerships with Education
- Smart Product
Both the business efficiency and environmental efficiency awards recognise improvements in resource efficiency.
The environmental efficiency award in particular has been developed to recognise those that have done the most to improve environmental performance, for example through improvements in the areas of resources, waste, energy, water, carbon and other emissions, or more generally through improving operational efficiency.
The 2014 winner of the North West regional environmental efficiency award, Crown Paints, has previously worked with ENWORKS on a range of energy, water, material and process efficiency measures to achieve over £600,000 in annual cost savings and 295 tonnes of annual CO2 savings.
The company’s successes are highlighted in a case study video available on the ENWORKS website.
