Social Value is important because it gets us to think about how our businesses operate, consider how our businesses can add value to society/communities and how our businesses can impact on current issues in society, to improve the planet for future generations.

This programme will explain how Social Value is becoming an ever-larger part of the evaluation criteria for public sector contracts and how to respond to this.

 

The programme will be delivered over 2 days, covering:

  • Social Value measurement & reporting

Session 1: Tuesday, January 24th, 10:00 - 13:00
Session 2: Tuesday, January 31st, 10:00 - 13:00

Attendees will gain an understanding of the definitions and legislation around social value and why it is important that the idea of social value is embedded into an organisation’s strategy. The attendees will also have an understanding of the various ways social value can be measured/reported through the most common frameworks. Attendees will learn how to put together a social value strategy/policy document and best practise case studies.

 

This workshop will be led by Nadir Sultan.
Nadir Sultan is a Social Value Business Advisor from the Business Growth Hub (Growth Company). Nadir has been working at the Hub since August 2022. Prior to this, Nadir was working as a Senior Social Value Advisor at The Social Value Portal where he helped to embed the National TOMs framework into local authority procurement across the country. Nadir has vast experience in working with commissioners, procurement teams and businesses to understand, embed and think about social value in their everyday working lives.

 

Eligibility

Our Workshops are part-funded by European Regional Development Fund. The workshops are delivered free of charge to participants; however, as they are fully-funded, they are classed as state aid to participating businesses and are subject to state aid rules.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Business based in Greater Manchester.
  • Annual Turnover less than 50 Million Euro OR Balance Sheet less than 43 million Euro.
