Developing A ‘People Strategy’ Programme

Big company thinking adapted for SMEs. There will be pragmatic and practical advice shared, with latest research on strategic people management initiatives.

A fully funded programme as part of the Business Growth Hub’s Exectutive Development Programme (EDP) for businesses based in Greater Manchester with 1-249 employees, looking to grow.

It is a total of 12 hours delivered in 2 x one day workshops (16/01/2023 & 23/01/2023 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) followed by 2 x 1 hour 1-2-1 consultancy sessions. Workshops are delivered in person in small group sessions.

Ideal for business leaders and those responsible for HR. All workshops to be attended on the programme.

The People Strategy programme is a specialist programme focusing on how to support businesses in developing a bespoke strategic approach for their people resource. Often generic business coaching and strategies for SMEs will focus (importantly) on finance, marketing/customers, operations etc but often does not go into the detail of how to develop a detailed HR/People Strategy, aligned to deliver the strategic aims of the business, that HR specialists are able to provide.

WHAT PREVIOUS DELEGATES HAVE SAID

"Excellent course - would highly recommend to all Business Owners and HR professionals in SME businesses"

"This is a no brainer for any SME who wants to take how they manage HR to the next level"

"Really enjoyed it - lots of food for thought. Others who attended also enjoyed it too"

"Can really recommend this programme. Jill is so knowledgeable, experienced and full of current-thinking. Loved it.”

“I was incredibly fortunate to be able to attend the Strategic HR programme delivered by Jill. Sessions were really informative, current and allowed me to step away from the day to day and start to focus and take action for the future. Both the delivery and the peer to peer support on the session were excellent and participation in this event has driven many positive changes throughout our business, most notably the development of a people strategy which aligns to our business goals and will support us in achievement of company strategy. This programme is really worthwhile and I have already recommended it to my external peers”
— Nicola Ryan, Director of Colleague Support, One + All

“The HR Dept's people strategy course has been one of the best courses that I have attended. There was so much information to be packed into four sessions but Jill did a great job. The content was valuable and engaging, and the slides and resources shared after each session were very useful. As an SME I think it can be easy to get your business strategy and marketing strategy in place without having a strategy for the core element of your business, your people. The course also includes two one-to-one sessions which are ideal for anyone who would like personalised help and support on developing their own people strategy. I have come away with a lot of ideas and work to be done which I'm very excited about. I believe it should make a big difference to our business as we grow”
— Rebecca Hopwood, Realm Recruit

Jill Bottomley, from HR Dept. Trafford & Warrington delivered the Executive Development Programme with real passion and insight.
She had a great understanding of SME’S and the issues we face. Her, friendly manner, ensured the content was delivered in an accessible format for all. Jill was instructive and thought provoking and she has helped us on the first steps of our journey at BEP to embrace a more streamlined and effectively targeted People Strategy. This course has all the building blocks for any business who believe their people are the most valuable resource to guarantee success & growth.
The whole experience is very worthwhile and the follow up 1-1’s are invaluable and keep you on track.
