How to Grow Your Business Using Data

Two online workshops (each 4 hours) plus 1-2-1 support that show business leaders (or the digital leaders within a business) how they can use data to help drive value into, and help to grow their business.

It is relevant for those simply wanting to make things more visible and improve reporting.  It is also for those requiring a more advanced use of data such as identifying how to do more for their customers and transforming the way people work.

The workshops will contain practical exercises, group discussions, periods of own-work (e.g. completing a diagnostic framework), and regular breaks.

In the period between the workshops Attendees will be asked to follow workbook guided practical exercises.

 

This is a 2 Half-day programme, held on the 8th and 15th November, from 09:15 - 13:30 both days with a further 4 hours consulatancy support

 

Workshop 1 (4 hours)

·       How businesses grow by finding ways to free time and resource through greater use of automation and smart working practices.

·       How data is used to pinpoint where the opportunities lie for better ways of working and to calculate the value to be gained.

·       How to design smarter ways of working and the use of automation within business processes.

 

Workshop 2 (4 hours)

·       Once you have freed up time and resource – how to find the best way to use it to move the business forward.

·       How the right data can help build longer term, higher value relationships with customers.

·       The ideal tools and methods for working with data.

·       How to use data to communicate what you want to do and to bring others on board.  

 

One to One support (4 hours) - to be agreed with each Delegate

·       Individual support for each Delegate. E.g. mapping processes, exploring technology options for automation, teaching specific skills.

 

 

 

Attendees will learn about the potential for data to help increase value within a business and deliver growth, plus the steps, tools and methods involved.

 They will take away:

  • A goal for using data to drive growth within their own business, plus a roadmap outlining what they will need to do, and the tools and skills required.
  • Experience of data capture and analysis using commonly available tools.
  • Reassurance that much of what’s needed is within their capability, or the capability of Colleagues within their business.
  • Reassurance also that support is readily available should it be needed.

 

About Speaker:
Paul Clarke is a Director of Figuringoutdata.com.  He has over 25 years experience as a Management & Data Consultant facilitating change in organisations.  He is also a specialist in using data analytics to drive improvements in efficiency and has developed data solutions for organisations across all industry sectors.
Paul is a member of the Management Board for the Biztech Technology Hub supporting growing technology businesses within the South East Midlands LEP. 
He is a professional development educator in Data Visualisation, Machine Learning and Advanced Forecasting methods programmes for the BPP University.  On behalf of BPP Paul has provided in-house training courses for organisations such as John Lewis Partnership, Waitrose, NotOnTheHighStreet, Royal Mail, ITV, the Ministry of Defence.
Paul is also the Digital Lead within the DfE funded Skills Accelerator Programme Pilot conducted within the SEMLEP area, teaching digital and data skills to leaders of small and growing businesses.

 

To be eligible, businesses must be:

  • Based in Greater Manchester
  • Business 2 business - Business 2 consumer businesses are ineligible due to ERDF guidelines
  • SME - Small or medium enterprise i.e.: less than 249 employees
  • Annual Turnover less than 50 Million Euro, Balance Sheet less than 43 million Euro
