Have you recently started your business and want to consolidate and explore moving to the next level? This session will cover business costs, sources of finance, tax and VAT.

This workshop will cover:

  • Employing Staff
  • Premises / Business location
  • Sources of Finance
  • Tax, doing the right thing with HMRC

You will gain insight into the basics all businesses should have in place as well as hints, tips and ideas of how to move your business forward. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights from other new business owners including challenges and strategies they have used to overcome these.

This workshop is delivered by Start Smart Advisors, who have a wealth of experience supporting individuals to start and grow businesses:

Andy Mather

Experienced Business Adviser, Andy Mather works alongside Salford and Trafford Councils and has close links with their Growth, Planning and Education and skills teams. Andy has worked as both a Business Adviser and a European Trade Adviser for 10 years and provides tailored and strategic business advice to early stage companies who have aspirations to grow and thrive.

Caroline Jones

Caroline has vast knowledge of marketing strategy and digital marketing and 12years’ experience of coaching and mentoring early stage enterprises.  Caroline has owned and operated a café and marketing consultancy so understands the challenges faced when establishing and growing a business.

Our Workshops are part-funded by European Regional Development Funds.
Our workshops are delivered free of charge to participants; however, as they are fully-funded, they are classed as state aid to participating businesses and are subject to state aid rules and the associated eligibility criteria:
Greater Manchester Clients Only
SME: Small or medium enterprise i.e. less than 250 (Full Time Equivalent) employees
Annual Turnover less than 50 Million Euro OR Balance Sheet less than 43 million Euro.

If your business does not meet these requirements, your booking will be cancelled.
