Hosted by The Growth Company: Organisational Improvement, this 1-day workshop has been designed to meet the increasing needs of leaders and managers to support wellbeing issues.
We are seeing more and more organisations investing into the health and wellbeing of their employees - yet we continue to see average absenteeism levels across the UK increasing. Our observations have identified that whilst wellbeing programmes are full of the right intentions, they are often failing to change culture, attitude or beliefs and as such has limited impact in changing behaviours in the long-term.
Research is telling us that the construction sector has the lowest levels of employee health and wellbeing due to many factors including the long-hours, a high prevalence of alcohol and substance abuse, frequent seasonal layoffs and separation from family and friends. And whilst many businesses in the sector are starting to realise the benefits of supporting employee wellbeing, mental health and stress-related issues continue to rise resulting in the sector losing 400,000 working days per year due to stress, anxiety or depression – the equivalent of 1,600 full time workers.
We recognise that well-intentioned programmes are often failing to change wellness levels in the long-term and as such our work with construction businesses across the UK has identified the incredible impact that leaders and managers can have on a company’s ability to adapt and embed wellbeing principles. Our Leading Well programme has been designed to meet the increasing needs within leadership and management teams to support wellbeing issues, not just by developing their confidence and capability in supporting people effectively but also by getting them to think about their own wellbeingand what it truly means to be healthy in their world.
