This session is hosted by Bury Local Authority & the content is supplied by Squire Patton Boggs. If the UK leaves the EU without a negotiated deal,  some EU nationals will choose not to stay to work.  So how can businesses proactively help their employees navigate through the UK Settlement Scheme, how can businesses attract and retain non-EU nationals into their workforce, what may change in terms of employment?

Supinder Sian, Immigration Partner at international law firm Squire Patton Boggs will cover:

  • EU Settlement Scheme – how is the scheme working, who needs to apply, when and how and how does this impact employers right to work check requirements;
  • No deal immigration arrangements for EU citizens arriving after Brexit – what do we know about the European temporary leave to remain (Euro TLR) Scheme and how will employer’s be able to continue to recruit from the EEA
  • The UK's future skills-based immigration system – what are the Migration Advisory Committee recommendations for the proposed new system due to come into force on 1 January 2021

This session is to look at those practicalities and give businesses the opportunity to highlight the areas that will need addressing in order to minimise any disruption.
