Are you the owner, director, manager or key decision maker within an SME? Would you like to further develop your leadership and management skills? If so this specifically designed development programme may be for you. This programme is designed to allow attendees to review the business, their management and leadership approach and achieve their desired business results more effectively.

Why attend?

The most consistent – even predictable concerns of owners/managers of SMEs regardless of the nature of the business is how to have less involvement in the day-day activities to allow time to focus on the development of the business. There is no ‘magic wand’, but with our considerable experience of working with the target group, we are confident that by attending the programme participants will identify options, choices and possibilities to enable them to focus on developing the business whilst achieving day-day results.

You'll take part in four interactive workshops. The workshops will also provide opportunities for sharing practice and knowledge with other business managers and leaders.

The Participant Experience

Participants will form part of a learning group and will be encouraged and stimulated to challenge themselves. They will be encouraged to avoid blandness and develop into the type of leader that people want to work and perform well for.  Using a blend of theory, interactive group exercises, reflective and collaborative learning and case studies, we will look at a combination of skills and behaviours designed to increase confidence, developing a more effective manager / leader. Coaching will focus on transferring learning to the workplace and provide participants with the opportunity to drive forward business growth through effective leadership and management.

Please note - attendance at all four of the workshops is compulsory as is a pre-programme 1:1 meeting to discuss your business growth needs with one of our advisors. All the workshop dates and content can be found below. They will all be taking place at the same venue.

Eligibility

There are a number of factors which can affect your eligibility for this programme. As a result please express your interest below and an advisor will be in touch to talk through your options and confirm eligibility.

This programme is funded by European Regional Development Funds and the Greater Manchester combined authority. The programme is delivered free of charge to attendees; however, as they are fully-funded, they are classed as state aid to participating businesses and are subject to state aid rules and the associated eligibility criteria.

The programme is explicitly available to Small to Medium enterprises (SMEs) based within Greater Manchester. An advisor will clarify eligibility with you but as a rule of thumb the company must have less than 250 (Full Time Equivalent) employees and the Annual Turnover must be less than 50 Million Euro OR Balance Sheet less than 43 million Euro. Sector Restrictions may also apply.
