The UK has committed to the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the new law will impose significant new data protection compliance obligations, fines and exposure to compensation claims from individuals whose rights have been breached.
By attending this course, ran in partnership with Bury Council, you will gain a good understanding of the changes in data protection law imposed by the GDPR and how to take practical steps to respond and manage the risks, both in terms of procedures for legal compliance and IT security systems.

With 30 years of information technology experience, Andy has a broad background and understanding across a wide range of technologies. He is responsible for architecting and securing IT infrastructures of all sizes with a specific focus on security best practices, threat prevention, data recovery and business continuity. Andy’s recent projects have been to advise customers on attaining ISO27001 and Cyber Security Essentials certifications in order to meet business compliance goals.
David is a commercial lawyer and litigator with wide experience of working with organisations to manage regulatory compliance and advising in respect of enforcement action and managing reputational and financial risks to business and individuals as a result of legal claims or enforcement by regulators.
