This is the last in a programme of 4 masterclasses that has been designed for Altrincham BID Levy paying Business to Business organisations.   Delivered with support from the Business Growth Hub the programme aims to give eligible business insight into the key areas of Strategy, Finance, Digital and Leadership.   

This session will focus on Leadership and cover:

  •          What is Leadership, why does it matter and how does it differ from management? What does it mean to claim the title of “Leader” and why does it sometimes make us feel uncomfortable to refer to ourselves in this way?
  •          Myth-busting, what does the evidence tell us and how does it contribute to successful leadership in business?
  •          How can we build high-support and high accountability cultures in our team, supply relationships and partnerships?
  •          The importance of trust and how to develop it?
  •          How can leaders drive change and improvement through effective feedback and powerful conversations?
  •          How can we lead for innovation?

Leading outside our influence - How can we as leaders develop expert status, increase our impact, create thought leadership and undertake horizon scanning? 

What will attendees learn / take away from the session? 

Information, tactics and resources to help develop, improve and embed leadership to include:

  •          A template format for developing leadership.
  •          New techniques for increasing accountability and support.
  •          High impact communication planning tool.
  •          Innovation and problem solving techniques to use with teams.

    Participants will also be introduced to peer-to-peer learning and support techniques and will have unlimited email Q&A support for three months following the workshop

    Bio of Deliverer

     

Catherine Sandland works for Ruby Star Associates who are a dynamic  evidence-based consultancy.  They develop approaches, products and services that directly respond to the needs of SME businesses across a range of sectors. 

They recognise that todays customers and businesses owners are smart and well informed therefore one of their biggest differentiators is how much they invest in keeping up to date with the latest research working closely with a number of universities and academics, collaborating on research programmes and also undertaking their own research to ensure their services including masterclasses like this are up to date and current.

Catherine herself has herself been a finalist for North West Women in Business Professional Services Awards and her skill areas include HR, Training, Skills and Employment, accomplished trainer and coach in presentation skills, leadership development and management communication skills and train the trainer. 

Catherine’s experience includes:

• Extensive delivery of executive level leadership and management programmes

• Former partner of Ellis Rowlands Associates, an HR and Learning and Development Consultancy. Major clients included Financial, retail sectors and included Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool

• Own consultancy business with key clients such as Deuche Bank and OGC (Office of Government commerce- procurement agency).

• Designed level five and level three ILM management qualifications

• Planned, designed and administered a leadership and development programme for Emi music publishing and Emi music records to over 400 employees in Europe, US and UK.

• Qualified to deliver and administrate Strength Deployment Inventory, a tool designed to identify key motivational values and the impact that has on behaviours and relationship building.

• Work with public speakers who want to raise their game and deliver inspirational and influential presentations.

• Tedx speaker on influence.
