Speaker biographies

Phil Rubins, Manufacturing Industry Lead, Digital Transformation Solutions

Phil has over 25 years in IT Hardware, Software, Services and Recruitment Sales experience in a number of industry verticals including Government, Financial Services, Services/Outsourcing, Retail and Manufacturing.

Previous to this role, Phil was an Account Executive for over 4 years looking after the Microsoft relationships for some of the largest Retail Customers in the UK.

The companies he has worked at prior are as follows:

  • Avaya – A member of the high touch sales team, a Customer advocate and responsible for setting preferences and creating a market for the UK. He was focused on Retail and Services Industries/Outsourcing.
  • IBM - A member of the IBM software business team, initially selling collaboration products to Local and Central Government and Financial Services organisations and then selling the entire mainframe software portfolio to some of the Largest Banks in the UK.

Phil believes in working closely with his Customers forming partnerships at all levels and across all lines of business. The goal is always to establish their needs, relevance and then to engage the right people in the right way at the right time.

Nick Williams, MD, Consumer Digital, Lloyds Banking Group

Nick is a highly respected Executive with extensive experience in leading transformative change in complex organisations, across the public and private sectors.

As Managing Director of the Consumer & Commercial Digital business at Lloyds Banking Group, he runs the largest digital Retail Banking franchise in the UK and supports 80% of the FTSE 250 in the Commercial Bank. His responsibilities span the 12.5m online users (8m mobile) across Lloyds Bank, Bank of Scotland, Halifax and Scottish Widows. He has transformed the business through unprecedented growth to provide a world class eCommerce capability, whilst maintaining a market leading customer experience. He is passionate about the digital inclusion and financial wellbeing agendas, proactively engaging in public policy setting and external media relations. Nick is also the Group’s Ambassador for the North region, managing relationships with central and local government, MPs and LEPs. As the Chair of the Northern Executive Committee, he brings focus to the region with the objective of helping northern communities and businesses prosper.

  • Government Advisor, member of the Digital Inclusion Council advising on the digital economy
  • Advisory Board Member, Digital Leaders UK
  • Non-Executive Director of Mersey Care NHS Trust, providing specialist inpatient and community mental health services across the North West of England
