Marketing has moved on. Printed brochures and leaflets still have a role to play but nowadays the best way to grab your clients’ attention is through digital marketing.

The Hub has developed a one day workshop designed to give you the skills to create your own short videos and boost your confidence in front of the camera.

As well as delivering some practical ways for SMEs to make their own cost effective videos, the workshop will also explore why businesses can’t afford to ignore video as a way of engaging with their customers.

The workshop is divided into two sessions:

Part 1 - Video content and Social Media

  • How to create your own videos using a mobile phone, tablet or laptop
  • How to use free software to easily edit your videos
  • How to gain a competitive advantage by researching your competitors' videos
  • How to use your videos on social media.

Part 2 - Professional Camera Skills

Being filmed can be an unnerving experience and this session will pass on some professional tips about how to improve your media skills.

First you’ll be filmed by a professional camera crew, as you deliver a 30 second pitch about your business. We’ll then review your performance on screen, and suggest ways in which it can be improved. The footage will then be professionally edited and your company logo added so you have a package to use on your website and on social media.

The workshop is free but places are limited and you’ll need to bring your own laptop or a tablet.
