Supporting Test and Trace – a guide for business

Find out the latest COVID-19 restrictions

Guide to the latest national restrictions

To facilitate the NHS Test and Trace service, it is mandatory for employers in certain sectors outlined below, to have a system to collect NHS Test and Trace data and to ask customers to provide these details. A full list of organisations within scope in these sectors can be found on the government website.

Specifically, in the hospitality sector, venues are required to ensure that anyone visiting their premises provides their contact information or checks in scanning the official NHS QR code poster before being allowed to enter. Hospitality venues should take reasonable steps to refuse entry to customers who refuse to provide NHS Test and Trace data.
