Zeal Creative delivers promotional and shopper marketing campaigns from its offices at MediaCityUK, working with brands including Bacardi, Weetabix and ASDA. A recent campaign involved working with frozen food brand Aunt Bessie’s creating a competition offering the chance to win a dinner on the set of the iconic Downton Abbey. In addition, the business helped the brand win the pitch for sponsorship of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
The firm needed to secure the necessary funding to launch the business, as the team looked to work with some of the biggest brands in the country. “Something which is so often overlooked when you’re starting out as a new business is how you’re going to get hold of essentials such as office space, technology and staff”, commented Stewart Hilton, creative director at Zeal Creative.
“For start-ups such as Zeal, one of the biggest challenges they face is taking their ideas and ambitious and translating them into a successful business structure”, added Peter Newton, growth start up advisor at the Hub.
The Hub worked with Zeal Creative to articulate a business plan along with financial forecasts, which helped the firm to secure a loan of £10,000 from Hub partner, Business Finance Solutions (BFS). The funding was initially used to launch the business, allowing the firm to secure office space as well as contributing to the cost of technology such as computers. The firm recently hired its first apprentice, increasing headcount to 18. Zeal hit £1.8m turnover in its second year of trading and were the winners of the Rising Star Award at the Salford Business Awards 2016.
