J'adore Models achieves growth through dedication to professional development
J’adore Models is an independent agency built by two sisters Jess and Sam. Established in 2013, J’adore Models offer skilled, hands-on management of global talent and a premium worldwide client base.
The business approached the GC Business Growth Hub initially for support with growth. After speaking with Business Growth Hub Advisor Jacqui Anderson, they enrolled on the Executive Development Programme (part funded by the European Regional Development Fund), which helps managers to better understand their business and its needs to improve productivity and develop strategic decision-making.
Following an initial business diagnostic with an Executive Development Programme Advisor, they were matched with specialist consultants Spectra Safety, who delivered 12 hours of support.
In the sessions, they outlined the following key priorities:
- To strengthen staff training and development, particularly regarding conflict resolution
- To improve communications across the company in order to improve staff retention
- To implement a business growth strategy by changing the culture
- To streamline decision making
Director Jess Ludlam said: “From day one, our belief has been to scout and develop talent to push boundaries through real representation and diversity within the industry.
“We take professional development seriously through internal training and strategy programmes covering management, career planning, diversity and inclusion.”
The Executive Development Programme supported the business to identify their priorities for the future and allowed them to create four new roles, a front of house assistant, menswear booker, finance assistant and a creative assistant.
“We have tried to ensure that our future priorities can be achieved through the specific skills of our newly appointed staff. One of the new members of staff appointed as Front of House and admin assistant and this has meant that most of my daily duties have been absorbed so that I can concentrate on increasing our bookings.”
Since completing the programme, J’adore Models has continued to work with the GC Business Growth Hub to streamline their decision-making processes and continue to grow the business.
