Greater Manchester’s one-day conference, PROGRESS21, has been moved to September 23 following confirmation of the four-week delay to the easing of national lockdown restrictions and the continued rise of the Delta variant in England.

The event which will focus on careers, businesses and Greater Manchester’s global ambition, had been planned to go ahead next week at Manchester Central, on Thursday 24 June. Those interested in attending can continue to register for free via the PROGRESS21 website.

Mark Hughes, Growth Company CEO, said: “The health and safety of our delegates is our number one priority and in light of the latest Government guidance alongside the continued rise of the Delta variant in parts of England, we are taking added precaution and choosing to move PROGRESS21 to September.

“PROGRESS21 is set to be a pivotal event for Greater Manchester and we remain committed to delivering the event to support individuals, businesses and our city-region on the whole in its recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. We have confirmed September 23rd as the new date, by which time we expect to safely go ahead with our plans. We’d like to take the opportunity to thank all of our sponsors, exhibitors and delegates for their support and understanding and we look forward to making PROGRESS21 a collective success for Greater Manchester’s businesses and citizens, in just a few months’ time.”
