Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has partnered with The Department of International Trade to bring you a 1-2-1 Export Advice Business Clinic in Stockport for companies who are interested in or new to export.

Why Export?
Recent reports from CBI and the British Chambers of Commerce indicate that only one in five UK companies are currently exporting, which is below the EU average. For a nation that once was the biggest exporter in the world, it seems as if we have been lagging behind some of our European partners in terms of world trade; and according to the government, if we were to increase the number of exporters from current levels of 20% to 25%, we could be adding £36bn to the UK economy.

There are a lot of reasons why UK companies should be looking to export, and the below are just a handful of benefits which companies can experience by exporting:

1. Becoming more innovative.
2. Achieving economies of scale and greater margins.
3. Riding better domestic economic recessions.
4. Spreading the risk between domestic and international markets.
5. Reaching wider range of customers – 90% of the world’s population is outside the UK.
6. Achieving growth, safeguarding and creating new jobs.

The demand is out there. You could be too!

Agenda

The event will be a 30 minute 1-2-1 meeting with an International Trade Adviser. GM Chamber Regional Manager, George Langfrord will also be around to discuss with members their Chamber membership and share with non-members how else the Chamber can support them with expanding their business.

Where is it?
